Garden design, build and care · Coventry & Warwickshire

Gardens composed with patience, planted for the years ahead

Willow & Stone designs quietly beautiful English gardens, builds them with care, and tends them through every season. From a courtyard in Earlsdon to an acre in Stoneleigh.

Our approach

Design. Build. Care.

Three disciplines, one pair of hands. The people who draw your garden are the people who plant it, and the people who return to look after it.

Design

Scaled plans, planting palettes and material boards, shaped around how you actually live outdoors. Concept designs from £450, credited back if we build the garden.

Build

Stonework, sawn oak, brick paths and generous planting, carried out by our own small team. No subcontracted strangers, and one point of contact throughout.

Care

Seasonal visits that keep the design intact as it matures: pruning at the right moment, dividing, feeding and editing so the garden improves rather than drifts.

We believe a garden should be at its worst on the day we hand it over. Everything after that, the roses finding their height, the hedges thickening, the self-seeders wandering into the gravel, is the garden becoming itself. So we design for year five, not for the photograph on day one, and we choose plants that will grow better every year in Warwickshire clay and Warwickshire weather.

Often asked

Questions from the garden gate

The things people ask us on a first visit, answered as we would over a cup of tea.

What does a garden design cost?

Concept designs begin from £450, covering scaled plans, planting palettes and material boards shaped around how you actually live outdoors. If we go on to build the garden, that design fee is credited back in full.

Is the first visit free, and what happens during it?

Yes, a first visit is unhurried and without obligation. We walk the garden together, talk about light, soil and how you live, and follow up with honest thoughts on what is possible.

Will you care for a garden you did not design or build?

Gladly. Our fixed-price seasonal visits are for gardens we have built and gardens we have not: a spring tidy from £180, summer maintenance from £120 per visit, and autumn preparation from £160. Each visit ends with a short note of what we did and what to watch for.

Do you offer year-round care rather than single visits?

We do. Year-round care plans cover all three seasons plus winter checks, from £95 per month, so the design stays intact as the garden matures: pruning at the right moment, dividing, feeding and editing.

Which areas do you work in, and how do we begin?

We work across Coventry, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Stoneleigh and the villages between, within about 20 miles of our Earlsdon studio. Call 01234 567 890 between 8:30am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, or on Saturday by appointment, and we will arrange a garden visit.

Kind words

From the gardens we tend

★★★★★

"Eleanor listened to how we use the garden rather than telling us what to want. Two years on, the borders are fuller and lovelier than the drawings promised."

Helen & Mark TrevelyanStoneleigh
★★★★★

"A tiny north-facing courtyard I had given up on. They found plants that thrive in it, and the seasonal visits keep it looking cared for without me lifting a finger."

Ruth AdebayoEarlsdon, Coventry
★★★★★

"The build team were courteous, tidy and clearly loved the work. Our terrace is the best room in the house from May to October."

Who we are

A small studio with soil under its fingernails

Willow & Stone was founded in 2014 by Eleanor Vance, an RHS-trained horticulturist, and stonemason Daniel Wright. We remain deliberately small: one design studio, one build team, and a care round we know street by street. It means we say no to some projects, and give everything to the ones we say yes to.
